BMW e36 Convertible: Renovation (Two Tone)

Interior Renovations - Gallery

On receiving this BMW we knew it would take longer to renovate the interior, not because of the condition but the two tone leather.

Having the blue leather added to the standard silver grey mean two lots of masking and spraying and remembering to apply the darkest colour first! Once stripped and deep clean the real condition of the leather was seen. Not to bad really, usual wear (but not too heavy) on the drivers.

To protect the bolsters and foam from further wear once refitted, the leather and foams from the driver’s seat was change for that on the passenger seat, not forgetting to swap over the occupancy sensor.

The aftermarket leather did wear/age differently to the original Silver Grey Nappa as was expected to the quality difference, but once a new Matt coat of dye was applied a uniform quality finish was achieved.
